One man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later transferred to Swansea Hospital.

Several residents were evacuated from neighbouring properties and re-housed by Torbay Council.

Ten Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service [DSFRS] pumps and an aerial platform attended as the fire took hold of the property. DSFRS investigators are currently at the scene.

There is likely to be traffic disruption due to road closure at Fore Street whilst DSFRS investigate the incident.
