Update: Now confirmed as a serious assault. Two men have been arrested. Updates to follow.
Castle Circus in Torquay is currently closed this morning, Tuesday 9 January due to a police incident.
The area is cordoned off and inaccessible to vehicles or pedestrians.
Vehicles are being diverted from Lymington Road up to St. Marychuch Road.
Pedestrians can access the town via Tremation Avenue/Union Street.
Police at the scene state the cordon is likely to last until at least this afternoon.
The nature of the incident has not been confirmed.
