Rowcroft Hospice has announced it will be accepting on–the-day sign-ups for The Colour Rush Teignmouth, which takes place on Sunday 11 June.
Online registration for South Devon’s brightest 5k closes on Sunday 4 June, but Rowcroft has confirmed registration will be open on the day from 11.30am at The Den on Teignmouth seafront, and also during its Sound Waves event, which takes place at The Den on Saturday 10 June.
All those aged over eight-years-old can sign up to take part in The Colour Rush Teignmouth for the one-off payment of £25 for adults and £15 for children.
Rowcroft’s Events Manager, Daniel Robson, said: “We are delighted to announce that we still have a limited number of places left for our Colour Rush Teignmouth.
“If you would like to complete a beautiful 5k route along the beach, (while being blasted with brightly coloured powder paint) then we would love to see you there!”
Rowcroft recently announced it would also be holding a full day of family fun on Saturday 10 June, with live music from a number of local bands performing on The Den as part of the hospice’s new event, Sound Waves.
Daniel explained: “We’re incredibly excited to be bringing another new event to Teignmouth, Sound Waves.
“We’re planning a full day of fun for the whole family, with local bands Harbour, Three Bags Full, The Kaizens, and The Mogs among many who’ll be performing between midday and 9pm.”
“The whole day is free to attend and we promise it’s one not to be missed, so grab your picnic blanket, some good friends and your biggest smiles and join in the family fun and frolics!”
A huge prize draw with some fantastic prizes will also be running across the weekend, at Sound Waves and The Colour Rush Teignmouth.
Daniel explained: “We have some fantastic prizes on offer which have been donated by local businesses, including an overnight stay at The Orestone Manor, a sailing charter on The Vigilance, a three month Gold membership to Winners 2000 and a gin making workshop courtesy of Salcombe Gin.”
Both Sound Waves and The Colour Rush Teignmouth are among a series of efforts Rowcroft is taking to continue raising vital funds following its funding shortfall in summer 2016.
Head of Fundraising, Rachael Bryett, said: “We recently announced the local community had shown us the most incredible support by helping us raise £605,000 for our urgent fundraising appeal.
“However, the next few months will be crucial for the hospice so we ask that all those who can please continue to support us in whatever way they can; including spending an afternoon getting covered in paint or listening to amazing local artists on Teignmouth seafront.”
