Generous shoppers are being asked to donate any long-life food items they can to make a difference to Teignbridge people in crisis this Christmas.
Tesco’s Newton Abbot Superstore is hosting a winter Food Collection between 30 November and 2 December, with each donated item being given to local families.
Janette Parker, Community Champion at the Superstore, said: “We know that there will be people across Teignbridge who will struggle at this time of year, so we’re asking our kind customers to donate anything they can when they do their shop.
“Every little donation really will help the local people facing many cost-of-living challenges this Christmas.”
Among the items that can be donated to the Food Collection are UHT milk, tinned meat or fish, sponge or rice puddings, tea and coffee, long-life juice, cooking sauces, peanut butter and preserves, tinned vegetables and pulses, rice, pasta and noodles.
