Fire crews had a busy morning dealing with vehicle fires.
Following an incident in a Marldon pub car park involving two cars at 3.20am this morning, 7th January (More here: https://wearesouthdevon.com/two-cars-destroyed-by-fire-in-pub-car-park/) Appliances from Torquay and Paignton then attended an incident at wrigwell estate, Ipplepen at 4.48am.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: “On arrival crews confirmed several vehicles and one building well alight and requested a further appliance which proceeded from Newton Abbot and a water bowser from Torquay. Also an operational assurance officer attended the incident,”
Three cars were completely destroyed by fire and three cars slightly damaged by fire. The fire also affected the corner of an industrial unit causing 10% fire damage and 30% by smoke.
The cause of the fire was deliberate and the police are involved.
