Families across South Devon are invited to a free event on Paignton seafront this week which has been part the town’s history for over 70 years and is the UK’s longest running event.
Local residents and visitors alike have grown up with the week of free fun and this year will be as memorable as ever with five days of free children’s entertainment including craft workshops, magic shows, and acts such as Queenie the Jester, Walking Dinosaurs and 16 Movie Cars.
Matt, organiser of Children’s Week said “This much-loved free community event is only made possible by support from local businesses. Each year local sponsors and volunteerscome together to organise and support the event including Stagecoach South West.”

2024 marks the 77th anniversary of Children’s Week with Sci-Fi Day the culmination of the week, drawing thousands of visitors each year. The day is packed with a fantastic range of memorabilia including cars and costumes from many popular films.
A Stagecoach open top bus will be parked on Paignton Greenwith giveaways on Sci Fi Saturday from 10am to 4pm.Stagecoach hope visitors and locals will head along to meet the team and explore the bus alongside a range of iconic movie vehicles. Plus, film fans can also meet their favourite characters such as Spiderman and Titan the Robot.
Visitors can connect to Paignton with Stagecoach Route 12 from Newton Abbot, Torquay and Brixham up to every 10 minutes.
