Stolen moped caught fire in collision

A man was seriously injured in a collision in Torquay late last night, Monday 6 September.

Emergency services were called to a collision on Hamelin way involving a recovery vehicle and a stolen moped at around 10.35pm. The moped caught fire as a result of the collision.

A local man was taken to Derriford Hospital with serious injuries.

A number of people are believed to have fled the scene following the collision.

The road was closed for around 3 hours whilst investigations took place.

Police investigating the incident are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
