Stranded motorists on M5 entertained by string quartet

When the motorway was shut down at the weekend because of distressed horses, stranded motorists were treated to a beautiful rendition of Pachelbel’s Canon by a string quartet.

After a horsebox broke down, the horses inside became agitated, bringing traffic to a standstill on the M5 but this wasn’t to be like any other traffic jam….

Helen Delingpole was travelling back to Wales after a break in Devon when she captured the beautiful footage. Posting the video on Social media, she said “A horse escaped on the M5 today on our way back from Devon, causing a complete stand-still and a string quartet to play.”

How wonderfully British!
