‘Strange lights’ spotted over Torquay

Did you see the mysterious lights falling from the sky in Torquay today, Monday 9th December?

It has been confirmed it was flares as part of a training exercise.

A spokesperson for Torquay Marina said on Facebook “We are aware of 4 flares being set off on the seaward side of Princess Pier and can confirm the Coastguard is carrying out training exercises, thank you for all those that are phoning and messaging in to alert us of the sightings.”

The sight had people baffled on social media with many messages flying into Spotted Torquays Facebook page to see if anyone could shed any light on the subject.

Not aliens, meteors or a UFO, just flares used for a training exercise.
