To celebrate the National Coast-Watch Institution’s (NCI) 30th year watching over the English Riviera coastal waters, our local Torbay NCI group of volunteers are delighted to announce their first ever glamorous black-tie charity fund raising gala to which you are invited.
This prestigious evening will take place at The Grand Hotel, Torquay, on Saturday, September 27th, 2025, and promises an unforgettable night filled with elegance, entertainment and community spirit in support of the NCI’s dedication to their continuing contribution to life-saving support across our bay working alongside HM Coastguard, the RNLI and the local S.A.R services.
All proceeds from the gala evening will directly benefit the NCI Torbay Tower situated on Daddyhole Plain, a registered charity with over 80 dedicated volunteers, all of whom are passionate in their protective role providing “eyes along the coast”, safeguarding lives and our local maritime heritage, supported by our patron HRH Princess Anne.
The magical evening will feature a sumptuous dinner, music, an exciting raffle and a unique maritime themed auction in support of a cause that continues to play a crucial role in the safety of the local community and area, hopefully, the gala evening will become an exciting annual event.
Members of the NCI and residents in the Bay Area are invited to attend this special fund-raising gala, celebrating the inauguration of the National Coast-Watch Institution 30 years ago and help your local NCI members continue to make a difference. All proceeds will go directly towards the upkeep and maintenance of the local Torbay branch of the NCI.
The format for the evening will be based on round tables of 10, some of which will be reserved for individual/dual bookings. Reservations for this unique evening are available now at £47.50 p.p. It is anticipated the evening will sell out; reservations are now being accepted on a first come first served basis directly from the NCI Watchkeepers Gala organising committee.
