The Palace Theatre recently hosted ESSW Charitable Trust for another successful pig racing night and turned the building a piggy pink to match.
The evening provided great entertainment for over 70 people, and raised £300 for charity to support children caught up in humanitarian crises overseas – this brings the fundraising total to £1600 so far this year and the charity already have more events and activities planned.
‘We’ve held 2 pig racing events and a jumble sale already this year, attracted two corporate sponsors, Inter-line and Frankman Design – plus we have three cyclists who are taking on the Ride London challenge for us and Dr and the Medics are headlining our annual charity bash later in the year’ said Ian Coulton, Chair of Trustees for ESSW Charitable Trust. ‘we’re delighted with the sum we have raised so far, and will be building on this with all of the events we have planned – every event we deliver makes a positive difference’
The next event is a charity jumble sale on 20 May in Stage Left at the Palace Theatre, and the charity is currently seeking donations for this, which can be dropped off at the Palace Theatre; the cyclists competing in Ride London will be looking for sponsors too and any support would be welcomed. The ESSW team are also collecting a whole host of lots for the charity auction planned for September.
‘Last year’s charity auction raised over £4,000 and the lots this year are bigger and better, so do book your place and ready to enjoy a great auction and highly entertaining game show night on 23 September!’ added Ian ‘All of the events are detailed on our Facebook page (@esswcharitabletrustuk), we hope to have a full house for Dr and the Medics on 3 November and lots of fun at the after show party with Hybrid5 performing. The support we have received so far from the Palace Theatre and those attending our events has been fantastic, and we’re always keen to hear from anyone who wants to take on a challenge for us!’
