Thieves attempt to steal ATM cash machine in ram raid

Police have appealed for information following the attempted burglary of an ATM cash machine from a shop.

The incident at the Co-op store on the Trago Mills site in Newton Abbot took place at around 2am on Sunday 10th December.

Devon and Cornwall Police said on their website: “A black-coloured Mitsubishi Shogun vehicle was used to force entry through the front doors of the shop. The offenders made off from the scene empty handed in a silver estate car leaving the Mitsubishi Shogun behind.

“The police are carrying out forensic and CCTV enquiries and are appealing for any witnesses who may have any information which may assist in the investigation of this crime,”
