Timothy Morgan, 19, has just completed his first year in FdSc/HNC Marine Technologies with a distinction overall. But now he has deferred for a year to complete a mammoth task of sailing the Clipper Round the World Race. He is sailing as part of a 57 member crew and is the youngest sailor in team Seattle.
Tim and his crew set off on, 1st September at 3pm, from London as Tower Bridge lifted to clear the way for the race to commence.
Matt Prowse, Tim’s Lecturer in Marine Engineering said:
“Tim is a hard-working student who has a natural flare for yacht design and the experience of this race will only add to his already substantial knowledge of the working environment of global racing yachts.”
It’s a fantastic opportunity for Tim. South Devon College will be cheering him on and will be following the progress of the race closely.
