A South Devon wedding venue featured on Channel 5’s The Hotel Inspector has received a top award at the prestigious Wedding Industry Awards this week. The Kingston Estate in Staverton near Totnes impressed judges and was awarded the Highly Commended award in the South West’s Best Countryside Wedding Venue category.
The stunning Georgian house and gardens have a colourful history dating back to 1735 and in 2010 were featured on Alex Polizzi’s The Hotel Inspector whilst under the management of its previous owners. The family-run estate has since been taken over and new owners Jamie and Sarah Phillips have worked tirelessly to turn Kingston Estate into an award-winning event venue.
Sarah Phillips said ‘The house has a fantastic history dating back to 1735 and is considered by many historians to be one of the finest surviving Georgian residences in Devon. We are absolutely thrilled to have received the Highly Commended award at the recent Wedding Industry Awards and we would like to thank all of the couples who have celebrated their special day at Kingston for voting for us. We hope that they are as proud as we are. We truly believe that at Kingston, anything is possible and we look forward to welcoming many more happy couples here to help make their wedding day one to remember.’
As well as the main house, the estate, which has been featured in Vogue magazine, includes a clutch of luxury cottages, stunning gardens, an underground bar and leisure facilities.
