Sue Bramwell, Matron of the Emergency Department at Torbay Hospital, run By Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust has thanked the many groups and individuals who have generously increased supplies of protective clothing during the pandemic.
The Trust has been overwhelmed by the kindness of a large number of people who have donated individually-made scrubs for staff during this time of extra demand.
She said: “All the staff in the Emergency Department would like to say a huge thank you to all groups who have kindly donated their time to make and provide scrubs for them. This means that staff can be issued with their own personal scrubs which some staff prefer to the impersonal hospital stock.
“In these unprecedented times a small thing such as owning a comfortable pair of well-fitting scrubs can make all the difference to staff morale and well-being.
“The support and response from our community has been truly incredible and we cannot thank you enough.”
The donors include the following: The Sewing Scrub Army, South Devon Scrub Angels, For The Love Of Scrubs, Sari Youlden, Inspire Blinds and Curtains, Jane Tyler, A Bunch of Scrubbers, Sheena Williams, Mid Devon Scrubbers, Ditsum and Judi Williams, Jenni Elliot, Rachel Thompson, Mary-Ellen Hawkins, Marilyn Sidebottom, Julie Macintyre and Tweed Craft, Mark Sirett and Beryl, Jackie Markham, Eleanor Relf, Alex Finch and Wellswood WI, Dawn Brewer and TQ Scrubs, Simone and Estuary League of Friends, Sally Parmenter, Karen Radmore, Heather Silvester, Jan Neil, Maureen Penhalagon, Judy Pedrick, Shirley Harwood, Tessa Brown.
