Torbay Council are working to enhance support for local parents and carers through the provision of an improved local childcare network.
As part of this drive, the council would like to find out about local people’s childcare needs, the sort of childcare they are choosing and their experiences of childcare.
The term childcare covers any provision caring for children. This includes:
§ early years childcare for 0–5 year-olds
§ childcare for school-age children, including before and after-school care and holiday clubs
A survey is now available on the council’s consultations page for local parents and carers to have their say. Survey responses will allow the council to understand the key childcare provision issues in Torbay. The council will then work to address these issues.
Councillor Nick Bye, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services for Torbay Council said: “Torbay Council has a clear vision to improve local opportunities for our communities. Access to high quality childcare is a fundamental requirement to support parents, carers, and children alike.
“The Parents and Carers Survey is a great opportunity for local people to inform the future of childcare provision in Torbay. I’d encourage all local people with experience of childcare to help us improve the local offering by completing the survey.”
