Update: The road is now open.
Torbay Road (A3022) is currently closed following a serious incident.
The road was closed both ways just after 11am after the incident near the old gas works.
A man fell from a wall, said to be around 20ft and was then struck by a vehicle.
The man was treated at the scene of the incident. He has suffered from life threatening injuries and has been airlifted to hospital.
The road is likely to remain closed for sometime. Diversions are in place.
