On behalf of Torbay Council, TDA have reached out to Torbay’s tourism businesses to help develop a new Tourism Destination Management Plan for 2016-2021.
A tourism industry survey has been sent out to tourism-related businesses to help TDA better understand their needs in Torbay. The survey questions include training needs, reaching new markets and identifying new business opportunities, which will help to shape the Destination Management Plan.
Executive Lead for Tourism, Culture and Harbours, Councillor Nicole Amil, said: “The survey looks at how businesses engage with their customers with a focus on digital and skills development; as well as future trends and how to reach new customers. I strongly urge all tourism businesses that have received the survey to communicate their needs through this survey.
“The Plan will work closely with the successful TBID and destination marketing activities to support Torbay tourism businesses to grow and attract new visitors.”
The survey is now live and tourism businesses have until the 24 July to complete the online survey.
Rebecca Davies, Senior Economic Development Officer for TDA, said: “The Plan will be developed in consultation with Torbay’s visitors, the local tourism industry and relevant regional and national partners.
“The questions in the survey also focus on how business is for them, what their customers are looking for when they come here and what they see are the key opportunities for Torbay. As a thank you for taking part, businesses are offered the chance to have a free one to one support session with a TDA Business Advisor to discuss their business needs.”
