A Torquay man has been jailed for weapons possession following an incident in Torquay earlier this week.
Tony Hawkins, 25, from Belgrave Road, Torquay was charged two counts of possession of a bladed article in a public place, and one count of being in possession of an air weapon when prohibited to do so.
Emergency services were called to an incident in Upton, Torquay on 31st July to reports of a disturbance.
It was reported that a number of people had broken into the property and made threats to harm. Units attended and undertook localised searches and soon made three arrests.
Mr Hawkins appeared at Plymouth Magistrates Court on Thursday 2 August and pled guilty. He was immediately sentenced to 12 months imprisonment.
A 29-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man both who were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary have been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
