An air ambulance has been landing near the incident.

A spokesperson for GWR has said:
“Emergency services are dealing with an incident on the line between Exeter St David’s and Newton Abbot. At present customers can travel on Stagecoach buses on all reasonable routes, if you wish to use local buses as an alternative means of transport and the local bus is not accepting Great Western tickets, please keep the bus ticket and send it, together with your rail ticket, to us for a refund. Ticket acceptance will remain in place until further notice. Replacement road transport is being organised, an eta will provided when vehicles have been sourced.”

Updates as information becomes available.
