Two new lions for Paignton Zoo as Arya leaves

Paignton Zoo will be welcoming two new lions after Asiatic lion Arya moved to ZSL London Zoo this week. Arya isnto be partnered with Bhanu as part of the European breeding programme.

Kali and Sita will be moving to Paignton Zoo from Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens in the next few weeks to join Yali, Arya’s twin brother

A spokesperson for Paignton Zoo said: “Our team are really looking forward to welcoming sisters.

“Animal moves such as this are really important for the future of the species and take great dedication and extensive planning from the animal care teams involved.

“We will of course keep you updated with more information when we can about the lionesses’ arrival, so keep your eyes peeled!”
