University Centre South Devon introduces new Torquay United Higher Education Development programme

South Devon College’s recent partnership with Torquay United Football Club has proved to be rewarding for the College and its students, with the introduction of the new Torquay United Higher Education Development programme. This programme gives students the chance to combine a passion for football with studying for their degree in sports coaching and fitness at University Centre South Devon (UCSD).

“We are very excited to extend our partnership with Torquay United, working together to deliver successful degrees in the sports industry. Students will now have the opportunity to combine higher level qualifications with real world experience in a high performing environment. We are grateful to Torquay United for supporting opportunities for our students to contribute in the areas of coaching, performance analysis and strength, and conditioning, with these experiences offering realistic pathways into employment. The College are also providing local footballers with the opportunity to continue playing in a Higher Education environment upon leaving school or college with those at the required level being able to step up and train with Torquay United.“ – Ben Roper, Higher Education Academic Coordinator.
