A dog ban on some of Torbay’s beaches is still on place for the summer months, so which can you still go to?

Torbay Council have said they’ve had a number of enquiries from local residents, asking if the ‘dogs on beaches’ ban which runs from 1 May until 30 September, could be suspended during the coronavirus lockdown.

The council have said this request has been considered but the legislation does not permit suspensions, and any lifting of the ban could cause confusion for residents at a later date when the current lockdown restrictions are lifted. Therefore, they are asking all dog owners to observe the bylaw ban like any other season.

The ban started on 1st May and will remain in place until Monday 30th September.

Here are the beaches that you can still visit:

Ansteys cove
Babbacombe Beach
Churston Cove
Elberry Cove
Fairy Cove
Fishcombe Cove
Goodrington Sands – North Sands
Livermead Sands
Maidencombe Beach
Meadfoot Beach – North Eastern part of the beach
Oyster Cove
Peaked Tor Cove
Saltern Cove
Shoalstone Beach
St Marys Bay
