Devon-based charity Wild Will Theatre Company returns this summer with a third season of live, open-air performance – bringing the magic of theatre to new audiences with vibrant productions of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night and Jez Butterworth’s Jerusalem.

South Devon – May 2025 — Wild Will Theatre Company, a registered charity dedicated to enriching lives through accessible and ambitious theatre, today announces the launch of its highly anticipated third season. In August and September, this year’s programme brings together two iconic works: Shakespeare’s riotous comedy Twelfth Night and the hauntingly poetic modern classic Jerusalem by Jez Butterworth.

Founded with a clear social purpose, Wild Will Theatre aims to break down barriers to theatre for people of all ages and backgrounds in Devon and beyond. Central to its mission is engaging young people and those with limited access to live performance. The company offers under 18, OAP, student discounts. Open rehearsals, and community events form part of an inclusive season that blends entertainment, education, and outreach.

“We founded Wild Will to spark joy, to challenge, and to connect,” says Rob Heyland, Creative Director. “With this third season, we’re continuing that mission in full force. Twelfth Night will be full of music, colour, and mischief, perfect for first-time theatre-goers, while Jerusalem is a bold tragic comedy that provides many challenges. These two plays represent our belief in theatre as both celebration and provocation.”

Season Highlights Include:
• Unique outdoor settings in South Devon to make theatre feel fresh, immediate, and
unforgettable.
• Full staging, costume and music.
• Performances catering to local youth, holidaying families, and first-time theatre-goers.
• Look out for behind-the-scenes videos, director commentary, actor interviews and
partnerships with schools and groups.

As part of their outreach efforts, Wild Will is actively looking for local schools and youth groups to work with to encourage young audiences to experience theatre in a welcoming, non-traditional environment.

Twelfth Night opens in late August, with Jerusalem following in early September. Tickets on sale now, with concessions and online bookings: www.wildwill.co.uk/performances
