A woman has been charged with attempted murder following an incident in Torquay yesterday.
Police have charged Katie Rockett, aged 29, of no fixed abode with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
The incident in which a man was left with serious injuries to his back and head is reported to have taken place in Torquay town centre on Tuesday 9 January.
The area was cordoned off for much of the day whilst investigations took place.
Rockett is due to appear before Plymouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 10 January.
Another person, a man in his 20s from Torquay, who was also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He remains in police custody.
