Family pay tribute to woman who died following tragic farm accident

The family of a woman who died following an accident on a farm in Dawlish have paid tribute to her.

Lauren Scott, aged 20, tragically died after the incident involving farm machinery whilst working at the farm on Saturday 4th March.

The family of Lauren Scott have made the following tribute:
“On Saturday 4 March 2017 our dearest daughter Lauren Scott, aged just twenty, was involved in a farming accident and as a result of her injuries Lauren left us later that afternoon

“The family would like to send out their greatest gratitude for all the heartfelt condolences and warming messages of love and support they have received in recent days, but now wish for their privacy to be respected to allow us to come to terms with the catastrophic loss of our beloved sister and Daughter.

“Lauren – the sun may set upon your time with us, but your memory will live on,”

Devon and Cornwall Police are continuing to investigate the incident which occurred at Springfield Farm in Dawlish. The incident is being jointly investigated with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Inspector Steve Davies of the Major Crime Investigation Team, said: “This is a tragic incident which is being treated as a work related incident. The Health and Safety Executive are working jointly with us on our enquiries.

“Our thoughts are with Lauren’s family and friends at this sad time.”

Detective Inspector Davies has asked anyone with information that may assist the enquiry, in any way, to contact the Police by email at 101@dc.police.uk or by calling 101, or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 quoting enquiry reference EN/004134/17.
