A woman in her twenties has died after falling from a bridge near the A379 on the outskirts of Exeter.
Emergency services were notified of the incident at around 12.45am on Saturday 1 February.
Further reports were received that the woman had then been hit by an oncoming vehicle.
The road was closed whilst emergency services dealt with the incident.
A 45-year-old man from Exmouth arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving has been bailed pending further enquiries.
