Emergency services were called to a woman who had fallen into a river in Newton Abbot just after 4pm today, Sunday 30th June.
The woman had been feeding ducks on the mobility scooter when it fell into the river.
She managed to get ashore herself, her mobility scooter was retreived by the emergency services.
Torbay Coastguard said on Facebook today: “We were tasked by Solent Coastguard – Operations Centre to assist Devon And Somerset Fire And Rescue Service HQ with a vehicle upside down in the river at Newton Abbot Quay, Teignmouth coastguard were also tasked. A female was feeding the ducks on her mobility scooter when it fell into the river she managed to get ashore safely whilst the DFR recovered her scooter,”
