A Newton Abbot school has reassured parents today after police and ambulances were seen near the school.

Emergency services were called to Neville Road earlier today, Friday 8th June, to reports of a man on the roof of a property.

Coombeshead Academy have reassured parents that although police have closed Coombehead Road, the school day is continuing as normal and the pupils are in no danger.

Dear Parent/Guardian,

We will update you at 2.30pm as to whether the school remains closed. School will be finishing at normal time.

It is understood negotiators are at the scene.
