Road closed due to police incident in Torquay

An 11-year-old boy was seriously injured in a collision in Newton Abbot this morning, Monday 10 October.

Emergency services were called to reports of a collision on Queensway involving a pedestrian and Skoda Yeti at around 8am.

The boy was treated at the scene and then taken to Torbay Hospital with a potentially life-changing leg injury.

The road was closed for approximately one hour to allow for medical treatment, police investigation and recovery of the vehicle.

Officers from the Roads Policing Team are appealing for any witnesses of the incident to come forward and contact police on 101 quoting log 107 10 October 2022.
