20 year old Paignton man in critical condition following collision

Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Paignton early Sunday Morning which has left a man in a critical condition.

Emergency services were called to a collision between a car and pedestrian on Marine Drive, near the Redcliffe Hotel entrance at 1.45 am.

The male driver of a blue Volvo V50 was uninjured but the pedestrian, a 20 year-old man from Paignton, suffered life threatening injuries and was taken to Torbay District Hospital. He was later transferred to Derriford Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision and would like to hear from anyone who saw the pedestrian or car before the time of the collision to contact them on 101 quoting ref 70 of 17th May.

Serious collision investigators attended the scene and the road was closed until 11am while enquiries took place.
