Dogs of Devon and their owners will be gathering on Oddicombe Beach for one of the highlights of the canine calendar, the perennially popular Blue Cross Dog Day on the beach, on Sunday 17th April from 9.00am to 11.30pm.
Doggy and human visitors alike can enjoy a fun-filled morning packed with activities. Will your pet beat the pack in the dog races, get the fastest time on the agility course or resist the treats on temptation alley? You can also test your team work and see if you and your dog can triumph together in the relay races and meet the impressive Oakwood gun dogs.
Kelly Hennequin, Volunteer Coordinator at Torbay Blue Cross, said: “We are counting down the days to the Oddicombe Dog Day now – we can’t wait! This event just gets more and more popular every year and it really is so much fun. We’re really looking forward to seeing everyone there again – it’s such a great day out seeing so many dogs together and it’s a fantastic way to help us raise much needed funds for all the homeless pets who need us.”
For the finale, the Fun Dog Show will find the top dogs in categories including Best Rescue Dog, Golden Oldie and Best Trick. The top five pooches in each category will win a rosette and all first place winners will receive a prize bag.
