Police appeal for witnesses after Torquay man dies in collision

A man from Torquay has died in a collision in Honiton this morning.

The man, thought to be in his 50’s died after his car left the road and overturned in a field

His car was found in a field off the old A30 near to the showground at Fenny Bridges. He had sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin has been informed and police await formal identification.

The old A30 was closed along with one lane of the main A30 while officers from the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit carried out an examination of the scene. The roads reopened at 1.15pm.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision and anyone who can assist is asked to email 101@dc.police.uk or phone 101, quoting log number 89 of 27/04/16.
