Police appeal for witnesses after woman’s body found in Brixham

Police have appealed for witnesses after a woman’s body was found in Brixham yesterday (11/05/16).

An investigation has been launched by detectives after the 57 year old woman was found in a field in Gattery Lane yesterday morning.

The death is being treated  as unexplained at this time. A 65-year-old man, from Brixham, is assisting police with enquiries.

The victim’s next of kin has been informed and specially trained officers are working closely with her family to provide support.

Officers are speaking to a number of potential witnesses as part of the investigation and are appealing for anyone with information to contact police.

Detective Inspector Steve Davies, senior investigating officer, said: “We would urge any member of the public who may have been in the area of Gattery Lane on the morning of Wednesday 11 May to contact police.”
