Two teenagers were rescued from a boat in the early hours of this morning.

Berry Head Coastguard had an early morning call out at 1:45am after a 999 call by two teenage boys who were in an unknown location.

Berry Head Coastguard Initially proceeded to Broadsands but then heard over the Radio that Torbay Lifeboat had located the boat in the Seven Quarries area.

A spokesperson for Berry Head Coastguard said:
“The casualties – 15 and 16 year old males – were found in a tender they had ‘borrowed’ after night fishing at Berry Head. They had no life jackets or other safety equipment though they did luckily have a torch so the lifeboat were able to locate them fairly quickly. We met the lifeboat at the boathouse where safety advice was given before we gave the lads a lift back to their waiting father in Paignton. We returned to base at 0430,”
