Totnes residents are being asked to go to the polls this July to elect a new district councillor for the Totnes ward. For those electors who live in the Totnes Town ward, there is also an election for new town councillors.
After the resignation of David Horsburgh, there is a vacancy on South Hams District Council and there are also four vacancies on Totnes Town Council for the Town ward.
Both elections will take place on the same day, Wednesday 27 July, and polling stations will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
The four candidates contesting for a seat on South Hams District Council are Andrew John Barrand (Conservative Party) , John Birch (Liberal Democrat), Alex Bethany Mockridge (Independent), Alan David White (Green Party).
Candidates for the Totnes Town Council seats are Georgina Allen (no description), Margie Barker (Labour Party), Mark Arnold Elliot-Smith (Green Party), Nick Hart-Williams (Green Party), Alan Langmaid (no description), Kamal Sayany (Independent) Jo Sweett (Green Party) and Adrian Toomey (Independent).
Residents are advised to check their poll cards for where their polling station is situated.
