Annual Civic Church Service – everyone welcome

The annual Civic Church Service will take place at All Saints Church in Babbacombe, Torquay, on Sunday 9 October at 3pm.

Torbay Council’s Chairman, Cllr Ray Hill, who is resident councillor of St Marychurch Ward, said: “The annual church service is a wonderful opportunity to experience a special and unique service. Everyone is very welcome to come along and enjoy this event and stay for refreshments following the service .”

Father Paul Jones, the Chairman’s Chaplain for this year, will be taking the service which will include an address by the Venerable Douglas Dettmar, Archdeacon of Totnes, as well as traditional hymns and readings.

The collection is in support of the Chairman’s charities the Disabled Sailing Association and Torbay Holiday Helpers Network.

Councillors, including past mayors and chairmen, and dignitaries from other local authorities, will be attending. Dress should be smart, including Insignia, and hats are optional for ladies.

Guests are asked to take their seats at 2.45pm for a 3pm start.

The church is situated in Cary Avenue, Babbacombe, Torquay, TQ1 3PQ. There is parking near the church and surrounding area. The nearest pay and display car park is at Princes Street TQ1 3LW or a bit further away is Walls Hill TQ1 3LZ.
