Innovative eSports football tournament planned for Torbay

An innovative eSports football tournament that combines the video game FIFA17 and 5-a-side football is coming to Torbay on 29/01/17.

The concept is simple. The 1st half is played on FIFA17 and the score is taken to a 5-a-side pitch and the match played out. The 16 team tournament will be broadcast live on YouTube, so even if you can’t take part, you wont miss out. PitchSwitch are affiliated with the Devon FA and EA Sports are providing 8 tickets to a Premier League match to the winning team.

During the event, it is planned that a Pro Gamer vs Pro Footballer Exhibition match will take place. Torquay United are fielding a 5 man team and have challenged the best Pro Gamers in the UK. The gamers will likely rack up a decent lead on FIFA17 but can they hold onto it when the professional footballers take to the 5-a-side pitch?! Find out on 29 January 2017 live on YouTube!

PitchSwitch are looking for local teams to sign up and take part – find out how at www.pitchswitch.co.uk. You can keep up with the latest news on twitter account (@pitchswitchUK) and on their Facebook group (PitchSwitchUK).

PitchSwitch encourage gamers to get active and are looking to launch junior tournaments throughout 2017 and offer Devon FA approved leads to those players keen to continue playing 5-a-side football.
