Whilst Torbay has lost some of it’s flowers beds, Kingsbridge have gone all out and are also delivering a serious message.
Kingsbridge Fire Station have been working with Kingsbridge in bloom and have come up with this creative way to get their message across about using your mobile phone whilst driving.
The message reads “DON’T USE YOUR MOBILE AND DRIVE”.
It is illegal to use a handheld mobile when driving.
Studies show that drivers using a hands-free or handheld mobile phone are slower at recognising and reacting to hazards
If you’re caught using a mobile phone while driving, you’ll get 3 penalty points on your licence and a fine of £100.
You can take a driving challenge here to see how easily distracted you are [Two of the WASD team did this, neither passed] http://think.direct.gov.uk/drivingchallenge/index.html
Let us know how you did!
