Appeal for information after car windows smashed in Torquay

Police have released the cctv image of a man following a number of car break ins in the Barton and Willows area of Torquay overnight.

A number of car windows were smashed on Leeward lane.

A spokesperson for Torquay police said on Facebook: “We are aware of increasing number of vehicle crimes being reported as of late, particuarly overnight. We are reviewing all available evidence this morning so please continue to report these to us on 101 or through our website.

“The image below shows an individual in the area of Leeward Lane last night around 2am. Although far from a clear image, if anyone has seen someone matching this description in and around the Willows / Barton area of Torquay in the early hours then please get in touch quoting reference CR/54949/20.

Devon and Cornwall Police

“Finally several reports indicate that items stolen have been left out on display, including loose change. Please ensure all valuables are removed from vehicles as this will decrease the chances of your vehicle being targeted.”
