Police have appealed for information following a hit and run in Paignton in the early hours of this morning (1st January)

A male pedestrian, a local man in his 30’s, was hit by a car whilst he was walking with his family along Kings Ash Road.

The incident happened between 02:15 and 02:27. The car, described as a Dark Green Ford Motorcar was travelling on Kings Ash Road (A380) from Marldon Way towards Tweenaway Junction in southerly direction. Just prior to Luscombe Lane, the Green car has collided with a man leaving him with serious injuries.

The vehicle failed to stop at the scene.

The road was closed between Spruce Way and Cotehele Drive whilst accident investigation work took place.

The road has since reopened.
