Posting on social media, Totnes Police said: “On Friday 28th February an 18 year old male was surrounded by a large group of males and females in the Civic Square.

“The victim was punched to the face by one of the group who all fled the scene. He was left with a deep 1” cut above his eye which required hospital treatment.

“Operation Limpets continues to target this group of teenage males and females who are engaged in anti-social behaviour, which includes various acts of mindless vandalism (mainly graffiti) and the serious damage to the Civic Square toilets last week.

“Any information with regards to the assault please get in touch – CR/017861/20 refers.”
