Police have appealed for information following a suspicious house fire in Coburg Place, Toquay.
The incident happened between 11.30pm on Friday 18 March and 12.30am on Saturday 19 March.
Fire crews tackled the blaze at the property which suffered from significant damaged.
The occupants of the home were out at the time. Nobody was injured as a result of the incident, but a number of nearby properties were evacuated as a precaution.
Detectives are appealing for anyone who may have seen or heard anything in connection with the incident to come forward.
Detective Constable Tim Platt said: “This fire had catastrophic potential to cause loss of life and it is fortunate that no-one was seriously injured or killed.”
