Police have appealed for witnesses after a cashier was attacked with a hammer during a robbery in Torquay earlier this week.
The incident happened at a shop on Victoria Road in the Ellacombe area on Tuesday 11th April.
Two men entered Ellacombe News at around 10pm. They made threats and demanded money from the cashier, who was then assaulted with a hammer. The suspects left with several bottles of alcohol. The cashier was treated in hospital for his injuries and was later discharged.
Detectives would like to hear from anyone who may have information that would help the investigation.
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of robbery. A 38-year-old man of no fixed abode has been released on police bail to return on Tuesday 11 July. A 33-year-old man from Torquay remains in police custody.
