Police have appealed for information following a serious collision in Torquay yesterday, Thursday 25 November.
Emergency services were called to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian on Queensway at around 3.35pm.
The collision, which happened near the Ben Jonson Close junction, involved a Volkwagon Bora and a child.
Police, fire and ambulance crews attended the scene. The air ambulance also landed at Our Lady of the Angels school.
The 11-year-old child sustained significant head and pelvic injuries and was initially taken to Torbay Hospital and was later transferred to Bristol Children’s Hospital for specialist treatment.
Queensway was closed for seven hours while police investigated the circumstances of the collision.
