Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was critically injured in a collision in Torquay last night, Tuesday 30th July.
Emergency services were called to Teignmouth Road, in the Watcombe area of Torquay at around 9.05pm to. Vehicle that had left the road and collided with a tree.
Police found the car unoccupied and a search was launched, with officers locating a man nearby with life-threatening chest injuries.
The man, in his 30s was taken to Torbay hospital and later transferred to Derriford hospital. The mans condition is described as critical.
The road was closed for five hours while an investigation of the scene took place. Officers are working to establish the cause of the collision and are appealing for any witnesses who were in the area at the time to contact them via 101@dc.police.uk or by phone on 101, quoting log number 893 of 30/07/19
