Appeal for witnesses after sheep killed in savage attack

Savage attack

Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust have appealed for witnesses after a dog attacked a ewe in Cockington on Monday, 21st September.

The attack is thought to have taken place between 12:30 and 14:30 whilst the flock were grazing in Dew Park Field next to the Arboretum.

A spokesperson for  Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust said:
“The ewe suffered multiple injuries, including deep lacerations to her throat and neck. These injuries sadly resulted in her death soon after the incident.

The ewe was killed in the attack

“The incident has been reported to the police. If you have any information that may help their investigation please call 101 quoting crime no: CR06595615 or call Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust on 01803 520022.

“Please help us by supervising and keeping your dog under control at all times. Keep to the footpaths provided and keep your animal on a lead if you are uncertain about whether livestock are present”
