Police have appealed for witnesses following a fatal collsion on the A380 in the early hours of this morning, Saturday 17 July.
The collision involved an ambulance, which was responding to an emergency and a pedestrian.
Emergency services were called to the incident near Kingskerwell at around 4.10am.
The male pedestrian was taken to Torbay Hospital but despite the efforts of medical staff, he died.
Both carriageways were closed for a time but the southbound carriageway has since reopened.
The northbound carriageway is expected to remain closed while investigations are carried out at the scene.
The police are working with the South Western Ambulance Service Trust to investigate the circumstances that led to the collision and would ask that people do not speculate about the cause.
The police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, has any information or dashcam footage which may have captured either the vehicle or the pedestrian prior to the collision that could help the police with their enquiries.
