A pedestrian has died following a collision in Plymouth yesterday (29th December).
The 46-year-old man was crossing the road when he was struck by a van outside the Esso Home Park service station.
Emergency services were called to Outland Road at 5.35pm.
The pedestrian, from Devonport, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital where he died a short time later.
The Manadon-bound carriageway was closed between Lyndhurst Road and the Venn Lane footbridge for five-and-a-half hours while officers carried out a forensic examination of the scene.
Officers from the Serious Collisions Investigation team are investigating the collision and are appealing for witnesses to the incident.
