Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in Paignton on Monday 7 April.
Emergency services were called to reports of a collision involving a green Citroen C1 VTR saloon and a pedestrian on Great Western Road, Paignton at the junction with Torbay Road, at around 3.55pm on Monday 7 April.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said “As a result of the collision, the pedestrian, a local man in his 70s, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Torbay District Hospital for treatment.
“A 23-year-old woman from Paignton has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit. She has been released under investigation, pending further enquiries.”
The road was closed whilst officers investigated and reopened at around 8.45pm.
